Handle with Care: What We Carry

Handle with Care: What We Carry is an experimental, time-based performance that extends the exhibition Handle with Care through liveness. Bringing together sound, moving image, the body, and everyday packing materials, the work invites audiences into a shared sensory experience where migration, memory, care, and material unfold collectively.

Handle with Care: What We Carry is an experimental, time-based performance that extends the conceptual core of the exhibition Handle with Care through liveness. Created in collaboration with sound artist D. Wibowo and experimental filmmaker Danielle Vishlitzky, the performance transforms the exhibition into a shared, embodied experience that unfolds only through the co-presence of performers, audiences, materials, and space.

Combining live performance, sound, moving image, and everyday packing materials, the work treats materials not as passive props but as active collaborators. Their textures, sounds, movements, weight, and fragility become a sensory language that guides audiences through acts of packing, carrying, dismantling, and rebuilding. Rather than observing migration from a distance, audiences are invited to inhabit its rhythms through a collective encounter with memory, care, and transformation, where meaning emerges through the singular conditions of each live performance.
