Comfort Music: PXM & Kimmel/Langdon Duo & Rue Mori

Jack Langdon (organ and ojibwe wooden flute) and Jeff Kimmel (clarinets) play quiet, abstract music which integrates elements of the American experimental and improvised music traditions into inscrutable forms. Their album "the other side of the air" was released by Dinzu Artefacts in 2024, described by Peter Margasak: "Sounds align, unleashing the infectious sweep of beating patterns, and clear intonation becomes sour with the incursion of the slightest pitch adjustment."

PXM is Madeleine Aguilar + Philip Lesicko, experimental + improvisational duo from Chicago, IL. Their debut record 'twin-star' releases Fall 2026 and is comprised of 2 improvised sets recorded at the Land School in January 2026. 'twin-star' is an exercise of care, intuition, telepathy & empathy.

Rue Mori — Polyphonic Digital Synthesizer

Since the mid 2000s, Rue Mori was active as an improviser and composer in the European experimental music scene; he performed both as a laptop musician and on the church organ.

After moving to the United States, he used the audio software Super Collider to develop his own performance application for the polyphonic digital synthesizer. The music incorporates an architecture of ratios and resonances, drawing from the harmonic series, historical temperaments, and prime-number-based temporal modulations.

Between 2006 and 2018, he co-organized the biennial Karlsruher Festival für Improvisierte Musik and has hosted many individual concerts and events featuring contemporary music.
