Chicago pan-metalists Arriver forge a rare path in their focus on long-form narrative and extreme sonic diversity, assimilating a spectrum of metal-adjacent and un-metal musics into an idiosyncratic whole. Magisterial riffage coexists with prog abstraction, bestial growls overlay kraut trance, stabs of post-hc intensity give way to soundscapes of crystalline delicacy…often within a single song.

Arriver will be joined by Sastara, a local metal band from Chicago.

This program is funded by the National Endowment for the Arts and the Terra Foundation for American Art, and is part of Art Design Chicago, a citywide collaboration initiated by the Terra Foundation that highlights the city’s artistic heritage and creative communities.
