Erez and Beth have played and toured extensively with Ken Vandermark's Edition Redux for the past 3 years, and are excited to collaborate in a rare duo set. Their performance for Quiet Comfort will explore the idea of what it means create "quiet and quietude" even with amplified sound.

Erez Dessel is a pianist, composer, and curator living and working in Chicago, Illinois. Dessel’s work explores the piano as a vehicle for human connection. A primary part of his practice is the history of the instrument as a tool for storytelling and world-building.

Beth McDonald is a classically trained tuba player gone awry. She performs mostly as an improviser, using the tuba acoustically or in conjunction with electronic processing.
