Force in Motion presents: M_m<M

Hypothetical Star will perform excerpts from the series "Space Race: UNCLASSIFIED" (e.g) Ed Dwight is over the Moon; John Glenn Bends a Paperclip; Sally Rides Hair" which takes the form of: songs/non-linear projections/lecture performance]

M_m<M [They] (pronounced "EM" or any combination of vocalizations produced from three "M's") is a transdisciplinary artist based in Chicago. As a former Photographer for NASA [a Silver Snoopy Awardee for the Columbia accident investigation through the retirement of the Shuttle(s) and the first tests of billionaires' spaceships in vacuum chambers from 2004-2015]. M_m<M makes art about human Space Flight from its inception in WWII to present day. They create endurance work in the form of photographs, projections, and songs to "declassify" personal & ethnonationalist mythology. In M_m<M's *live* work as [STAR] pronounced "Hypothetical Star", they sing and speak truths of civil rights missteps in the name of Space Exploration. As a queer "peacetime" alternative to military and billionaire missions [NASA, SpaceX, Space Force, Blue Origin] M_m<M shares their stream of consciousness over "spaced-out" beats collaboratively composed over the Internet with Satellite Engineer named Nulltopia [he] (based in New Mexico). M_m<M earned their MFA with a New Artist's Society Fellowship in 2017.
