Join us for a celebration and farewell of our beloved piano, played by many in the last ten years and recently destroyed by a burst water pipe in our building! Over the course of this two day program we have invited various pianists and piano operators to perform with this instrument one last time as it is slowly deconstructed and hauled away. As we say goodbye to this unique instrument, we will be raising funds to purchase a new one!
Our program begins Friday night with Shi-An Costello, Jeff Kowalkowski, and Paul Giallorenzo each playing a short set with the piano in its current intact-but-challenged state of being. Starting Saturday afternoon, Shawn Lucas will be deconstructing the piano into its component pieces, inviting the public to witness the final autopsy, culminating in the evening with a final set of performances with the deconstructed piano by Shi-An Costello and Lauren C Sudbrink.
