Natedal is a trio project that develops music through collaborative and experimental composition. Through improvisatory processes of music-making, each artist within the project translates to sound the uniqueness of their experience, for sharing, engaging and intersecting with creative expressions of another. The sounds which emerge from Natedal are shaped by the widely varied backgrounds possessed by its individual artists: Aliya Ultan was raised by a free jazz artist, studied classical cello and composition and draws her inspiration from interdisciplinary collaborations with circus acrobats, visual artists, and dancers. Eden Girma was exposed to large variety of vocal traditions before studying jazz vocals combined with their degree in math and astrophysics. Natoya Andersen was influenced by the social principals she learned in Aarhus in her early music education, which uses music as a means to connect with people and develop as a person.
