About Kassi Cork: Chicago-based composer and music teacher Kassi Cork started her love affair with music in the 90’s Industrial and Goth scene of her youth. A classically trained pianist, her musical lexicon connects modern composers such as John Cage and Philip Glass, creative frontwomen like Kim Gordon and Tori Amos, and watershed underground acts from Skinny Puppy to Aphex Twin. Kassi’s partnership in the instrumental band MEND synthesizes these influences into an electronic discography that is equal parts animated emotion and relaxed contemplation.
About Daniel Evans: With the handsome looks of a glam rock scoundrel and the lean, articulate guitar style of a metal soloist, it would be easy to write Dan Evans off as another also-ran rock star. This would be a mistake; less show pony and more workhorse, Dan is a full-time sound engineer in addition to being a prolific live performer, touring with celebrated industrial bands such as Die Warzau and Chemlab. Dan’s sparkling guitar chops and meticulous production are on full display in his recent project, the Chicago art rock quartet Muet.
